Renu Micro Needling Pen

At Aesthetic Solutions, we are proud to offer the Renu Micro Needling Pen to your practice. This treatment has been around since 1994, and has gained increasing popularity in recent times due to the adaptability of treating multiple skin conditions effectively.
The Renu Micro Needling Pen is a fantastic option if your patients want something that’s minimally invasive, with little to no downtime, that’s safer than other treatments, and where the patient can get a quick in and out procedure.

What Is The Renu Micro Needling Pen?

The Renu Micro Needling Pen is a tool that ultimately allows for stimulation of collagen production and healing by forcing microscopic holes into the dermal layer of the skin. The microscopic holes create a small amount of damage to the skin that ‘trick’ the skin into the healing process. This method is effective at treating many skin issues as discussed below.

How Does The Renu Micro Needling Pen Work?

The Renu Micro Needling Pen is a small handheld device that is pressed onto the skin, that works by many small needles that oscillate and puncture the skin. This causes very minimal amounts of damage.
The skin then goes to work to repair the damage caused, and in doing so, collagen production is jump started. Collagen is responsible for elasticity, and a youthful appearance. Fibroblasts are restored as well throughout the process. Additionally, the pen encourages healing of other issues in the treatment areas, such as wrinkles, fine lines, and scarring.
As patients age, even in their 20’s, collagen production depletes increasingly year by year.

Who is The Renu Micro Needling Pen For?

The Renu Micro Needling Pen is generally a good fit for those patients who are looking to treat or improve the following:

What Are the Benefits of The Renu Micro Needling Pen?

The benefits are many with the Renu Micro Needling Pen.
For starters, there isn’t much downtime, if any, required. At the most, the patient may want to stay home for 24 hours or less due to redness. If the redness doesn’t bother them, they’ll experience no necessary downtime.
The treatment is generally tolerated very well, and there are no serious side effects to look out for, unless the patient has a bleeding disorder – in which case, micro needling is not a good treatment option for them.
The treatment areas usually begin to show improvement about a month after the first treatment is completed. With each subsequent treatment the patient has, they will notice more markedly improved results.
The procedure doesn’t take very long, usually about an hour or less, but this all depends on the patient’s treatment area and how intense their treatment needs to be.

What Do Renu Micro Needling Pen Treatments Feel Like?

Renu Micro Needling Pen treatments shouldn’t be painful. Your patient may experience itching, a warm sensation, or even just the feeling of something brushing against their skin. It’s difficult to say what your patient will feel as each individual is different. You could definitely use benzocaine cream before treatment to avoid any pain associated with the treatment.

What Do Renu Microneedling Treatments Cost?

Renu Micro Needling treatments vary in price due to the size of the area in need of treatment, the time it takes to complete the treatment, and the subsequent sessions that follow up the first treatment session. You will be able to help your patient build an understandable plan with your charges and associated costs.

Common FAQs

Micro needling shouldn’t hurt, but it may be uncomfortable for some individuals. The use of benzocaine should help with any discomfort. Your patient may experience burning, itching, or a warming sensation with treatment, but the effects should be minimal.
There are a few important things every patient should not do or partake in prior to and following a micro needling procedure – at least for a week. Other medications should be discussed with the patient during their consultation. Patient should avoid sun exposure for a week after their procedure, as well as utilizing makeup of any kind.
If your patient comes into the office and has any cuts, cold sores, or other skin inflammation on the area to be treated, treatment must be rescheduled until the skin has cleared. This is to avoid infection.
